তিতাস একটি নদীর নাম অদ্বৈত মল্লবর্মণ রচিত বিখ্যাত উপন্যাস। এই একটি উপন্যাস লিখে লেখক খ্যাতি অর্জন করেন। এই উপন্যাসে গ্রামের দরিদ্র মালো শ্রেণীর লোকজনের দুঃখ-দুর্দশার কাহিনী ফুটিয়ে তুলেছেন। তিনি তাঁর ব্যক্তিগত অভিজ্ঞতা ও সুগভীর অন্তঃদৃষ্টির কারণেই উপন্যাসটিতে ধীবর সমাজের নিষ্ঠুর জীবনসংগ্রামের সাধারণ কাহিনীকে দিয়েছেন অবিনশ্বর ও অসাধারণ। অদ্বৈত মল্লবর্মণের মৃত্যুর কয়েক বছর পর 'তিতাস একটি নদীর নাম' শিরোনামের এই উপন্যাসটি গ্রন্থাকারে প্রকাশিত হয়। পরবর্তীকালে এই উপন্যাস অবলম্বনে চলচ্চিত্র নির্মিত হয়।
Titash Ekti Nadir Naam by Adwaita Mallabarman is a popular bengali novel which is written by Adwaita Mallabarman and he was well know by this Book. The book was first published serially in Monthly Magazine Mohammadia. After published of few chapters of the book original scripts was lost in Road and He wrote again the scripts by the request of his friends and readers. Whole book was published after his death in 1956. Story of the novel is "A fisherman, Kishore, marries a young girl accidental when he visits a nearby village. After their wedding night (during which the couple is almost too shy to speak), she is kidnapped on the river. Kishore became mad. She fights with the bandits, jumps into the river and is saved by some strange villagers. But she does not know her new husband's name or what he looks like, she only remembers the name of his village". Adwaita Mallabarman was popular Bengali author. He was born in 1 January 1914 in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh and died on 16 April 1951 in Hospital.
