কালকূট - সতীনাথ ভাদুড়ী বইটি সতীনাথ ভাদুড়ীর লেখা একটি বিখ্যাত উপন্যাস। সতীনাথ ভাদুড়ী (১৯০৬-১৯৬৫) কথাশিল্পী, রাজনীতিক। তাঁর সাহিত্যিক ছদ্মনাম ‘চিত্রগুপ্ত’। ১৯০৬ সালের ২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর বিহারে পিতার কর্মস্থল পূর্ণিয়ায় তাঁর জন্ম। তাঁর পৈতৃক নিবাস ছিল নদীয়া জেলার কৃষ্ণনগরে। পিতা ইন্দুভূষণ ভাদুড়ী ছিলেন পূর্ণিয়ার আইনজীবী।সতীনাথ পাটনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে অর্থনীতিতে এমএ (১৯৩০) ও বিএল (১৯৩১) পাস করে পাটনায় ওকালতি করেন (১৯৩২-৩৯)। এরপর কংগ্রেসের রাজনীতিতে যোগ দিয়ে তিনি পূর্ণিয়ার জেলা কংগ্রেসের সেক্রেটারি হন। ১৯৪০-৪১ ও ১৯৪২-৪৫ সালে রাজনৈতিক বন্দি হিসেবে তিনি ভাগলপুর জেলে আটক ছিলেন। পরবর্তী সময়ে কর্মপদ্ধতি নিয়ে মতবিরোধ হওয়ায় তিনি কংগ্রেস ত্যাগ করে সমাজতন্ত্রী দলে যোগ দেন (১৯৪৮)।সতীনাথ নানা ভাষায় সুপন্ডিত ছিলেন। ১৯৪৬ সালে প্রকাশিত জাগরী উপন্যাসের মাধ্যমে তিনি প্রভূত খ্যাতি অর্জন করেন। রাজনৈতিক উপন্যাস হিসেবে বাংলা সাহিত্যে এর একটি বিশেষ স্থান আছে। ১৯৪৯-৫০ সালে প্যারিস ভ্রমণের অভিজ্ঞতা নিয়ে তিনি রচনা করেন সত্যি ভ্রমণ কাহিনী (১৯৫১)। তাঁর অন্যান্য গ্রন্থের মধ্যে গণনায়ক (১৯৪৮), চিত্রগুপ্তের ফাইল (১৯৪৯), ঢোঁড়াই চরিতমানস (২খন্ড, ১৯৪৯, ১৯৫১), অচিন রাগিণী (১৯৫৪), অপরিচিতা (১৯৫৪), সংকট (১৯৫৭) ও আলোক দৃষ্টি (১৯৬৪) উল্লেখযোগ্য। বিহারের জনজীবনের চিত্র সতীনাথের রচনায় দক্ষতার সঙ্গে অঙ্কিত হয়েছে। জাগরী উপন্যাসের জন্য তিনি প্রথম ‘রবীন্দ্র পুরস্কার’ (১৯৫০) লাভ করেন। ১৯৬৫ সালের ৩০ মার্চ তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়।
Kalkut by Satinath Bhaduri is a popular bengali Book which is written by Satinath Bhaduri and another popular novel of the author. Satinath Bhaduri was a Bengali Indian novelist and politician. He was known by his literary pseudonym, Chitra Gupta. His ancestral home was in Krishnanagar in the district of Nadia. He obtained an MA degree in Economics from the University of Patna in 1930. In 1931 he completed his BL degree. He started practising law at Patna between 1932 and 1939. He then joined Indian National Congress and became a district secretary of Purnia. He was imprisoned in Bhagalpur Jail twice: 1940-41 and 1942-45. In 1948, he fell out with the Congress and joined the Socialist Party.
