‘চাঁপাডাঙার বউ’ তারাশঙ্কর বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের একটি সামাজিক উপন্যাস। চাঁপা ডাংগার বৌ শুনলেই কেন যেন খুব সুন্দরী, দেবী প্রতিমার মত একটা বৌ এর ছবি চোখে ভেসে উঠে। উপন্যাসের পটভূমি গ্রামীণ হিন্দু এক পরিবার। পরিবারের বড় কর্ত্রীর কোন সন্তান ছিলো না। সে নিয়ে আক্ষেপও ছিলো না, কারণ ছিলো তার পুত্রতুল্য একটি দেবর। কিন্তু সামাজিকভাবে এই সম্পর্ককে কুলশিত করার চেষ্টা হয়। এলাকার কুচক্রী মহলের কুমন্ত্রণায় আর নিজ সম্মানের রক্ষার্থে বড় কর্তা সম্পত্তি ভাগাভাগি করে। শেষে করুণ পরিনতিতে সমাপ্ত হয় উপন্যাস।
