নন্দিত নরকে বাংলাদেশের কথাসাহিত্যিক হুমায়ূন আহমেদের প্রথম উপন্যাস। এর রচনাকাল ১৯৭০, এবং প্রকাশিত হয় ১৯৭২ সালে। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে রসায়ন বিভাগে অধ্যয়নকালে হুমায়ূন আহমেদ উপন্যাসটি রচনা করেন। এ সময় তিনি মোহসিন হলের আবাসিক ছাত্র ছিলেন।
উপন্যাসটি খুব সাধারণ একটা নিম্নবিত্ত পরিবারের জীবন সংগ্রাম নিয়ে লেখা, যে পরিবারেরই মানসিক বিকারগ্রস্ত মেয়ে রাবেয়া। রাবেয়াকে ঘিরেই পুরো গল্পের পটভূমি। এছাড়া এ গল্পে আছে মা, বাবা, ভাই, বোন, শফিক সহ অনেকেই। চার ভাই-বোনের মধ্যে বড় মেয়ে রাবেয়া বুদ্ধিপ্রতিবন্ধী। তার এক বছরের ছোট খোকা যে কিনা মাস্টার্স পরীক্ষার্থী, এর পর বেখেয়ালী স্বভাবের মন্টু, যে রাবেয়ার বাবার প্রথম বউ এর ছেলে আর সবচেয়ে ছোট মেয়ে রুনু। ছয় সদস্যের এ পরিবারটির সাথে থাকে তাদের বাবার ভার্সিটি জীবনের বন্ধু শফিক। শফিক সাহেবকে তাদের বাবা তাদের বাড়িতে আশ্রয় দিয়েছিলেন। শফিক একটি স্কুলে শিক্ষকতা করেন সেই সাথে রাবেয়াদের ভাই-বোনদের পড়ান।
উপন্যাসটিতে লেখক পাশের বাড়ির ধনী পরিবারের মেয়ে শিলু ও তার ভাই হারুনকেও তুলে এনেছেন। বুদ্ধি প্রতিবন্ধী রাবেয়ার প্রতি হারুনের রয়েছে দূর্বলতা আর শিলুকে নিয়ে আছে খোকার মনে চাপাপড়া আবেগের ঘটা, যা নিম্ন মধ্যবিত্ত পরিবারের কাছে স্বপ্ন ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়। পুরো গল্পটি জুড়েই আছে একটি পরিবারের দুঃখ ও কষ্টের এক বিষাদ বর্ণনা।
