ব্যোমকেশ বক্সী শরদিন্দু বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সৃষ্ট বাংলা সাহিত্যের অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় গোয়েন্দা চরিত্র। শরদিন্দু বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় (মার্চ ৩০, ১৮৯৯ - সেপ্টেম্বর ২২, ১৯৭০) একজন ভারতীয় বাঙালি লেখক । তাঁর জন্ম উত্তরপ্রদেশের জৌনপুর শহরে। তাঁর রচিত প্রথম সাহিত্য প্রকাশিত হয় তাঁর ২০ বছর বয়সে, যখন তিনি কলকাতায় বিদ্যাসাগর কলেজে আইন নিয়ে পড়াশুনো করছিলেন। পড়াশুনোর সাথেই তিনি সাহিত্য চর্চাও করতে থাকেন। তার সৃষ্টি গোয়েন্দা চরিত্র ব্যোমকেশ বক্সী আত্মপ্রকাশ করে ১৯৩২ সালে।শরদিন্দু ১৯৩৮ সালে বম্বের বম্বে টকিজ এ চিত্রনাট্যকাররুপে কাজ শুরু করেন। ১৯৫২এ সিনেমার কাজ ছেড়ে স্থায়ীভাবে পূনায় বসবাস করতে শুরু করেন। পরবর্তী ১৮ বছর তিনি সাহিত্য চর্চায় অতিবাহিত করেন। ১৯৭০ সালে তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়।শরদিন্দুর প্রসিদ্ধতম সৃষ্টি হ্ল সত্যান্বেষী ব্যোমকেশ বক্সী। ১৯৩২ এ 'পথের কাঁটা' উপন্যাসে ব্যোমকেশের আত্মপ্রকাশ। প্রথমে শরদিন্দু অজিতের কলমে লিখতেন। কিন্তু পরে তিনি তৃতীয়পুরুষে লিখতে শুরু করেন। এছাড়া উল্লেখযোগ্য রচনার মধ্যে আছে বিভিন্ন ঐতিহাসিক উপন্যাস। যেমন 'কালের মন্দিরা', 'গৌর মল্লার', 'তুমি সন্ধ্যার মেঘ', 'তুঙ্গভদ্রার তীরে', ইত্যাদি। সামাজিক উপন্যাস যেমন 'বিষের ধোঁয়া' বা অতিপ্রাকৃত নিয়ে তার 'বরদা সিরিজ' ও অন্যান্য গল্প এখনো বেস্টসেলার।

a student in 1918 to Parul. He pursued law and took writing completely.
When he first introduced Byomkesh Bakshi to the audience in 1932 he had
