অপরাজিত বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় রচিত দ্বিতীয় উপন্যাস। ‘প্রবাসী’ মাসিকপত্রে ১৩৩৬ সালের পৌষ সংখ্যা থেকে ১৩৩৮- এর আশ্বিন সংখ্যা পর্যন্ত ধারাবাহিকভাবে প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল। বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দোপাধ্যায় এ উপন্যাসটি উৎসর্গ করেছিলেন ‘মাতৃদেবীকে’।
বাংলা সাহিত্যের একটি অমূল্য সম্পদ ‘পথের পাঁচালী’। শিশু-মনের দুজ্ঞেয় রহস্য উদঘাটিত হয়েছে এর মধ্যে। সেই রহস্য-সন্ধানী পল্পী-শিশুর যৌবনের কাহিনী বিভূতিভূষণ র্তার পরবর্তী উপন্যাস "অপরাজিত’-এর মধ্যে পরিবেশন করেছেন লেখনীর যাদুস্পর্শে। “অপরাজিত’-এর অনবদ্য কাহিনীর মধ্যে ব্যক্ত হয়েছে অপুর গ্ৰাম্য স্কুল-জীবনের খুঁটিনাটি বহু-বৈচিত্ৰ্য। এই অপূর্ব ওরফে অপু তখন অনেক বড় হয়েছে। তার সম্পর্কে মাষ্টার মশাই বলেছেন, “ভাবময় স্বপ্নদর্শী বালক, জগতে সহায়হীন, সম্পাদহীন ! হয়ত একটু নির্বোধ, একটু অপরিণামদর্শী, কিন্তু উদার, সরল, নিষ্পাপ, জ্ঞানপিপাসু ও জিজ্ঞাসু ।” কোথায় এমন ছেলে আজ ? “অপরাজিত’-এর মধ্যে সেই পরম অনন্য চরিত্রকে শুধু কথায় আঁকা নয়, একটি বিশেষ আদর্শের প্রতীক হিসাবে জাতীয় জীবনে প্ৰতিষ্ঠা করে গেছেন অমর। অতঃপর গ্রাম থেকে শহরে এসেছে অপু। বিহ্বল, বিভ্রান্ত হয়েছে। শহরের পরিবেশ দেখে। ভতি হয়েছে কলকাতার কলেজে। অভাব, অনটন ও অনাহারের বছ। করুণ ঘটনার মধ্যে ও অব্যাহত রাখার চেষ্টা করেছে শিক্ষার আদর্শকে । এই সব ঘটনাবতের মধ্যেই উদ্ভাসিত হয়ে উঠেছে মাতার প্রতি সন্তানের এবং সন্তানের প্রতি মাতার গভীর বেদনা-বিধুর বিবরণ।
